„The ICN in Poland: New Challenges and Enforcement Tools in Competition Law” Conference organized by International Bar Association took place in Warsaw on April 23, 2013.

Antitrust enforcement officials and academics did not miss this important conference, covering all of the latest hot topics and developments in competition law today.

Topics included:

- The role for private enforcement – recent developments and current issues

- The changing face of merger enforcement – from a structural to an effects based analysis

- Sanctions – achieving the right balance between fines for companies and (criminal) sanctions for individuals

- The role of antitrust agencies in the enforcement of competition law before national courts

In addition to the substantive programme the conference also hosted input and commentary from some of the globes leading practitioners including two key note addresses delivered by Dr. Małgorzata Krasnodębska-Tomkiel, Chairperson of the Polish Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and Dr. Eduardo Perez Motta, President of the Federal Competition Commission of Mexico, President of the ICN.

We have a pleasure to inform that Polish Competition Law Association (SPK) became a supporter of the Conference.  All PCLA members were granted special registration fee (just like IBA members).
